Had a quick glance recently at the Top 100 comics based on sales and was astounded these titles don't appear in the Top 20. The best selling titles like Spider-Man and JL are fun, but do not represent the best quality comics available and do little or nothing to push the boundaries of comics forward. The best selling titles only serve the status quo and to generate new readership who eventually will find these titles I love so much. These titles below the Top 40 are pushing the medium forward and are more open to "risky" storytelling than you would ever find in a JLA book or Spidey book. The books listed below are where writers and artists have gone to really show what the world of comics is capable of.
