THIS IS MUSIC - APRIL 2012

D&J Comics is just as obsessed and passionate about music as we are about comics.  We want you to hear what we have "bangin" on our stereo.  Maybe it's the creative energy that flows through both mediums and the strong sense of independence or contrarily connectedness, that solidifies a connection between the two?  Regardless, to borrow from Carl Gustav Jung, there is synchronicity. "The idea of synchronicity is that the conceptual relationship of minds, defined as the relationship between ideas, is intricately structured in its own logical way and gives rise to relationships that are not causal in nature. These relationships can manifest themselves as simultaneous occurrences that are meaningfully related."

This is how we feel about the relationship that exists between music and comic books.  If you look into the backgrounds from the likes of: Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman and Grant Morrison; or musicians ranging from Belle & Sebastien, Ryan Adams, Danzig and KISS, I think you would find they feel the same way.  Comics and music are pop culture cousins.

So monthly there will be a new blog column with you tube clips/album covers and appreciation for the people and bands that create some of our favourite music.
